From your first lesson to wherever the water takes you.

Ishyaka Swim Club trains swimmers of every age and ability, in pools and open water across Rwanda.

Backstroke starts at the ISK pool

Squad training · Kigali, Karongi, Rutsiro

Team training six days a week with experienced Rwandan coaches, including a two-time Olympian and national team swimmers. We train in the pool at the International School of Kigali (ISK), and in open water on Lake Kivu. Swimmers from other Rwandan clubs are welcome to join us as guests. We train hard, and we’re serious about having fun.

A learner getting comfortable in the ISK pool

Learn to swim · Any age. Really.

Age 3 or 63, first time in the water or starting over: we’ll teach you. Plenty of people arrive sure they’re too old, too nervous or too late. They aren’t. You start where you actually are, and nobody gets pushed.

Friday group class at ISK has a set weekly time. Private lessons happen on your schedule, on your own or with family or friends.

Swimmers celebrating at the Nyamata competition

Open competitions

Our meets are open to every swimmer in Rwanda, and we cover competing teams’ travel so cost never keeps anyone from racing. Past events include Ishyaka’s first annual competition in Nyamata and the Swim/Skate Endurance Challenge in Karongi. Serious racing, and a lot of fun.
